Mass Effect - A Feature and a Sneak Peek
That seems weird to say. Usually I post in the evening, but I was too excited to wait this time. First off, GamesRadar featured several of what they call Mass Effect fan art: The best images we've seen, and I'm honored that they chose to feature my digital painting of Tali!
It also pleases me greatly that they requested permission ahead of time, and made sure to include a credit. In a world where the sharing of digital content is just so easy, people often forget such simple courtesies. A big kudos to GamesRadar for doing things the right way.
Now that I've REALLY got Mass Effect on the brain (not that I didn't before, but hey!), I figured this would be a good time to show a very sneaky sneak peek at the costume project I've been working on. I'm extremely excited, as it's turning out almost exactly as I envisioned. It's been so long since I got to immerse myself in a costuming project like this, and I can't wait to show full pics and share how I did it.
I've been taking photos all along the way, from sculpting, molding, casting, and painting the mask, making the eyes, making the jaws move, building the armor, wiring the lights... the works. Expect the costuming section of this site to grow rapidly during the month of June.
For those who recognize the character, no, the armor isn't its final color yet. The painting part comes soon.
Seeing as it's one of those kinds of days, I'm off to blast the Mass Effect soundtracks in the workroom and make some more armor!
