Ataraxia - Lizard mask sculpture in progress
It's been a while since I posted an update on the argonian mask I'm working on for Robbie, so here are some photos of the sculpt-in-progress!
I made several spikes as separate pieces, for the back of the jaw and under the chin. This way, I can sculpt around them without them becoming deformed.
As I started adding scale details, I also realized it'd make this mask far easier to mold and cast if I removed the spikes and cast them as separate pieces.
More scales! I'm getting there. This guy has a ton of detail on him, and I'm loving it - even if my wrist isn't! I was pointed to the following tutorial by a friend, a great resource for techniques on how to sculpt reptilian skin.
Also, while the spikes appear to be reattached in the mask sculpt photos above, they're just set in temporarily so I can correctly size the holes they will fit into.
One last thing, a couple of horn sculptures, nearly ready for molding. The larger one will be used for the argonian's horns, while the smaller one is for another, secret project I'm working on. Shh. :)
