Medusa's Tear

Medusa's Tear by Sarrah Wilkinson - An illustration of Medusa, the gorgon of Greek legend, snake-hair writhing and eyes closed as a single tear falls down her cheek.

This image started out as an ACEO sketch, but I really became enamored of the idea and turned it into a full illustration. Medusa, the famed gorgon of legend, was said to be a beautiful woman cursed by Athena to bear a visage so hideous as to turn anyone who glimpsed her face into stone.

Imagine for a moment how lonely it must be to never be able to meet the gaze of another living creature without destroying it...
