Dragon Wall Mount Timelapse

Sarrah Wilkinson - 2/4/2020

Meet Sylacris! This is a dragon wall mounted sculpture I created using my favorite sculpting medium, Monster Clay. I made him in multiple pieces - the head and neck as one piece, a pair of separate horns, eyes (so they can be replaced with glass or any other 12mm cabochon piece), and a rocky base that makes it look as though he's busting through the wall!

I took some video while I was sculpting the head piece, and used it to put together a timelapse. He was then molded using Rebound 25 silicone and cast in SmoothCast 65D urethane resin, with a backfill of Foam-It expanding foam to keep him lightweight but solid. This timelapse covers approximately 20 hours worth of work on this scaly beast!

Unpainted kits (and occasional painted wall mounts) are available in the shop!
